Technics was conceived in 1965 to produce high-end audio equipment. From 2002 Technics products were re-branded as Panasonic except in Japan and the former Soviet Union, where the brand remained in high regard. Panasonic discontinued the Technics brand for most products in October 2010, but it was revived in 2015. Possibly best known for the legendary SL-1200 DJ turntable, Technics are back with audiophile versions of that turntable, along with high-end electronics reinstating Technics as a high-end brand.
